HostEarnings is a bookkeeping and investor-communication tool for property businesses, including real estate agencies, short-term rentals, and hotels. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we use it.
What we collect
Account details you give us (name, email, preferred currency), the property and transaction data you upload or import, and basic operational telemetry (timestamps, IP address hashes, and error reports). We don't sell your data.
How we use it
To run the product: authenticate you, render your dashboards and reports, generate share links, and send transactional emails (password resets, billing receipts, comment notifications).
Where it's stored
In secure, encrypted infrastructure across the United States, Canada, and Europe, meeting each jurisdiction's data-protection regulations. Backups run daily. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. See our Security page for detail.
Sharing
We share data with a narrow list of subprocessors required to run the service (hosting, email delivery, payment processing). The current list is in our Data Processing Addendum.
Investor share pages
When you publish a report to an /r/[token] link, anyone with that link can view the contents. Tokens are long, unguessable strings; treat the URL as the credential. You can revoke or password-protect a link at any time.
Your rights
You can export or delete your data from Settings. If you're in the EU/UK, the GDPR rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port apply. Email [email protected] and we'll act within 30 days.
Changes
Material changes are announced by email and require re-acceptance. Minor clarifications increment the version without re-consent.
